Privacy Policy

Welcome to The ScentStack ("App," "we," "us," or "our"), a fragrance collection and layering mobile application operated by The ScentStack LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Company"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the App, visit TheScentStack.com, submit information through our beta application, or purchase our digital Guide.

By using The ScentStack, visiting our website, submitting a beta application, or purchasing the Guide, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the applicable service.

• Email address — used for authentication and account management
• Display name and/or username, where set
• Authentication provider identity (e.g., that you signed in with Google or Apple) needed to operate your account
• Onboarding completion state
• App preferences and settings

To provide the App's core features, we store data you create or that is generated through your use of the App, including as applicable:

• Your owned fragrance and fragrance-oil collection
• Favorites and wishlist entries
• Saved stacks
• Single Wear, Core Stack, Signature Stack, and Statement Stack history
• Wear feedback and personal notes you enter
• Data used to generate and persist your recommendations
• Achievements and progress state
• Notification preferences
• Premium entitlement state, where applicable
• Advanced Stack Preview usage accounting, where applicable
• Other settings necessary to provide the App's features

The App does not require location access to function. If you choose to grant it, here is how location is handled:

• Foreground device location (optional). If you grant permission, the App may access your device's precise location while the App is in use, in order to resolve local weather and environmental context for recommendations. This location is processed transiently — it is used to obtain that context and is not retained as location history. The resolved town or city is likewise not maintained as location history.
• Saved ZIP/postal code (optional alternative). Instead of granting device location, you may enter a ZIP/postal code and country. This is saved as an app preference so weather and context can be retrieved without repeated location prompts.
• Declining location access. You may decline both options. Declining does not prevent you from using the App — recommendations simply proceed without weather or environmental context.

We use Open-Meteo to convert location information (device coordinates, or a saved ZIP/country) into weather and geocoding data. See Section 4.

• Device information — device type and operating system version
• Basic crash and performance data made available through Apple's and Google's standard app store diagnostic tools

The ScentStack does not currently operate a dedicated behavioral analytics or usage-tracking system (for example, screen-by-screen event tracking, engagement scoring, or advertising identifiers).

For App subscriptions and in-app purchases, where offered, payments are billed and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not directly receive or store your full payment card information.

For purchases of the separate digital Guide through TheScentStack.com, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card information. We may receive limited order information needed to confirm, fulfill, and support the purchase, such as your email address, payment status, and transaction or order identifiers.

If you apply to participate in The ScentStack beta through our Tally form, we collect the information you choose to submit through that form. This may include contact information, device and platform details, operating-system information, fragrance-related responses, and other answers you provide as part of the application.

We use this information to review beta applications, manage beta participation, communicate with applicants or testers, and improve the beta experience.

For the separate paid digital Guide, we use Amazon Web Services ("AWS") infrastructure to support secure digital delivery. Information necessary to fulfill and support the download may include your email address, order or payment-confirmation information, download-token information, download status, and related technical records used to issue, validate, expire, or reissue a download link.

We use information we collect to:

• Create, operate, and secure your App account
• Provide and improve the App's core features, including your collection, stacks, and wear history
• Generate fragrance layering recommendations and stack suggestions using The ScentStack's proprietary recommendation and layering technology (Section 6)
• Resolve weather and environmental context for recommendations, where location or a ZIP/country is provided
• Sync your App data across your devices
• Manage subscription/Premium entitlement state, where applicable
• Review beta applications and manage beta participation
• Communicate with beta applicants and testers about participation and support
• Process, fulfill, and support purchases of the separate digital Guide
• Respond to feedback and support requests
• Identify, diagnose, and fix technical errors
• Comply with legal obligations

The following third parties may receive or process limited information in order to operate The ScentStack, the beta application, or the Guide purchase and delivery flow:

Database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Your account credentials and the App data described in Section 2 are stored and processed via Supabase. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

If you sign in with Google, Google processes your authentication request. We do not receive or store your Google password. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your authentication request. We do not receive or store your Apple password. Privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

Used to convert location or ZIP/country information into weather and geocoding data used in recommendations.

If you purchase an App subscription or in-app purchase, where offered, the applicable store (via StoreKit or Google Play Billing) processes your payment and manages your purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

The ScentStack uses RevenueCat to support subscription entitlement management where Premium purchases are enabled. RevenueCat may receive information related to your subscription status to keep your entitlement in sync across devices. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

We use Tally to host our beta application form. When you submit the form, Tally processes the information you provide on our behalf so that we can review and manage beta applications. Tally privacy notice: tally.so/help/privacy-policy

We use Stripe to process payments for the separate digital Guide sold through TheScentStack.com. Payment information is transmitted directly to and processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Stripe privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy

We use AWS infrastructure to support fulfillment and secure delivery of the separate digital Guide, including processing information necessary to issue and validate time-limited download access. AWS privacy notice: aws.amazon.com/privacy

The ScentStack does not sell your personal information, and we do not use your personal information for third-party targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. The service providers described in Section 4 receive only the information necessary for them to help us operate the App, beta application, website, and Guide purchase or delivery flows.

The ScentStack uses proprietary recommendation and layering technology to generate stack suggestions. This technology may consider factors such as the fragrances you own, weather and environmental context, an occasion or vibe you select, and your prior activity in the App, where applicable. We do not publicly disclose the internal scoring logic, weighting, or thresholds used by this technology, and recommendations are not guaranteed to be complete or accurate at all times — see Section 9.

The ScentStack may offer Premium access through subscriptions or in-app purchases made available through the Apple App Store or Google Play. These stores process your payment; we do not directly receive or store your full payment card information. The ScentStack uses RevenueCat to support subscription entitlement management where Premium purchases are enabled. Premium access may expire if a subscription lapses or is cancelled; cancellation generally affects future renewals and does not retroactively delete history you created while Premium was active, which may remain viewable according to the App's current functionality. Purchase restoration is supported where the platform allows it. Subscription price, duration, any trial terms, renewal terms, and applicable taxes are presented to you through the applicable store's purchase interface at the time of purchase.

The separate "25 Fragrance Stacks That Actually Work" digital Guide is purchased through Stripe. Stripe processes the payment transaction. AWS infrastructure is used to support digital delivery and download access. The Guide purchase and delivery flow is separate from App Store and Google Play purchases.

We retain the App information described in Section 2 for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the App's features. When you delete your App account (Section 10), we delete or anonymize the associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where limited retention is required by law, for fraud or security purposes, to resolve disputes, or for other legitimate operational or legal obligations. We do not promise instantaneous deletion of every backup copy or copy held by a third-party processor.

Beta application responses and Guide order, fulfillment, and support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the beta, fulfill purchases, provide support, prevent fraud, maintain required business or tax records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Fragrance layering recommendations and stack suggestions provided by The ScentStack are for informational and lifestyle purposes only. Results can vary based on the specific product, your skin chemistry, environmental conditions, application method, individual sensitivity, and other factors outside our control. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and warnings for any fragrance product you use, and discontinue use if you experience irritation or another adverse reaction. The ScentStack does not provide medical or dermatological advice, and nothing in the App should be treated as such.

You can permanently delete your App account at any time from within the App, in Settings. Deleting your App account removes your account-associated App data as part of the deletion process, where technically and legally applicable. Limited information may be retained where required by law, for fraud or security purposes, to resolve disputes, or for other legitimate operational or legal obligations, as described in Section 8.

Deleting your App account does not by itself delete information you submitted separately through the beta application form or records associated with a separate Guide purchase. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of eligible information by contacting us at hello@thescentstack.com, subject to applicable legal and operational retention requirements.

The App may offer optional local notifications, including a Daily Pick reminder and streak-related reminders where enabled. These are scheduled on your device rather than sent from a remote server. The ScentStack does not operate a routine remote promotional push-marketing system and does not maintain a marketing push-token database.

We use industry-standard measures to help protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), authentication managed through Supabase, and row-level security policies on our database. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

The ScentStack is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, subject to applicable law, including rights to:

• Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your personal information
• Request your data in a portable format

Many App-account actions — such as correcting your profile information or deleting your App account — are available directly in the App's Settings. For requests involving beta application information, Guide purchase or delivery records, or anything else not available in the App, contact us at hello@thescentstack.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App or through another appropriate communication channel.
